The show took place in a clean, white, curtain-draped warehouse with concrete floors. The designs were not so innocent, however. As my body began to tremble in eager anticipation and from the pulsating beats, my jaw hit the floor with this futuristic collection. Definitely one of my favorites this season!
Ready to break out from prison, stripes were a consistent sight. Not only were funky stripes sported, but Geoffrey Mac also brought new meaning to Madonna’s cone bustier costume. He artfully constructed cone-like, 3D structures onto his mini dresses’ hips. Another frequent protruding detail found its way on the shoulders of many of the jackets. Descending hem lines on skirts were also catwalk regulars.
Bursts of colors, instead of the dark, muted tones for fall, were quite refreshing. Oceanic teals, sunny yellows, fire engine reds, and whites, along with some black made their presence known. Wools pants, skirts, and dresses accompanied by leather and silk infused futuristic lover with an inquiring bewilderment.
Geoffrey Mac certainly should be applauded for his creativity and fashion forwardness.

It’s New Year’s Day! The beginning of the new year! And time for resolutions!
PMc Magazine resolves to bring you even greater content this year than we did last year!
But we’re not the only ones making resolutions this New Year’s.
And so, in celebrating our first year as a publication, we asked many of our favorite interview subjects over the last 12 months, as well as other friends of the magazine, to send us their New Year’s resolutions.
Here are the responses we received:
ADELTO: LUXURY LIFESTYLE NEWS
INGENIOUSLY combined tribal influences with disco wear; this latest collection for Spring Summer 2012 comes from GEOFFREY MAC, stylist to the likes of Lady Gaga and The Scissor Sisters. In no way subtle or understated, this kaleidoscope of colour is lined in metallic, splashed with neon’s and thoroughly bathed in drama.

Tribal disco: Geoffrey Mac
It takes a truly daring and creative mind to turn tribal influences into frocks that could stop a disco. But disco-ready is what Geoffrey Mac’s spring 2012 dresses are. Here is a man whose resume can namedrop costuming for the likes of Lady Gaga and The Scissor Sisters, so it’s no wonder these products of his kaleidoscopic mind are edged with shiny metalics, neon colour, and theatrical drama.
Each outfit could belong to the Queen of an ancient tribe, worshipped for her Goddess-like qualities. But she’s not the understated type; nor is she tied to the past. In fact, much of Mac’s work feels distinctly futuristic.
Some of the pieces are shapeless and fringed, with Deco-like geometric prints; a Princess of 1920s exotica. Others are fishtailed and fantastical, others floating and feathered, all are tied together with the single commonality of being nothing short of attention-grabbing.
The look book’s hair and makeup by Darvell Freeman hits the same level of artistic boldness as the clothing. And the ancient moss and rising mist of the look book setting? That’s the land our tribal queens inhabit – when they’re not off partying.

When I was 10, I performed a competitive dance routine to “Groove is in the Heart” by Deee-lite. I wore a electric blue unitard with bell-bottoms in an assaultingly bright geometric pattern. Thirteen years later, I find myself flipping through a lookbook for Geoffrey Mac, the costume-turned-RTW designer who’s collaborated with the likes of Lady Miss Kier herself, as well as Scissor Sisters and Gaga.
With powerful palettes and ultramodern stylings, my nylon/spandex blend circa-1998 could not compete with Mac’s debut collection of bold fabric combinations and eclectic sensations.
But it sure as hell tried.
